LYLAS

I forgot to post pictures of Emma's last day here in San Diego.

They may as well be sisters. :)

They look up to her so much.

Happy Thursday.
xoxo

Tonight is Alyssa and Allison's school orientation.
I'm not sure who's more excited about it, me or them. I'm so eager and anxious to get this school year started. My babies are in the first grade and I am 100% in love with the school that they will be attending. It's new school, so I am still waiting to see if it lives up to my expectations, but I have a feeling that it will go above and beyond what I could have dreamed for them.

Missing Emma

Emma's been back in Illinois for almost a week now and things are just starting to settle back into place. It was very hard to say good-bye and she is dearly missed by us all.

I think D misses her the most. I felt like a broken record with that little lady...
"Leave him alone."
"No, you may NOT pick him up."
"Did you just wake up him to hold him."
"He is not a doll."

She was all over the poor guy and he loved it!

I'm not lying when I say that she is a perfect fit in our big chaotic family.

I just love this group of crazies.

We love you, Emma!

Locks of Love

Something special that we did while Emma was visiting was donating her hair to Locks of Love.

She's only had a few trims of her hair her entire life so this was a BIG change for her.

She was pretty excited.

Can you tell?

Snip. Snip.

Here is my gal holding up her donation.

Just a little styling to get it perfect.

She was thrilled with her new do.

What a transformation!

She looks so grown up now.

Vacation Bible School

The week of Vacation Bible School was by far one of the busiest weeks of my life.

It was Alyssa and Allison's last week of school so there were half days and volunteering to be done.

My niece, Emma, also flew in for a three week visit.

We had only been attending our new church for a few weeks when I decided to volunteer at VBS. It was such a fun week and if our church does anything right, it's their children's ministry. Everyday was jam packed with fun and exciting adventures.

I was a little bummed that Alyssa and Allison weren't able to attend, but there is always next year.

If our week wasn't crazy enough, our Angels case manager decided to make her surprise home inspection one day that week. Talk about the wrong day at the wrong time.

*sigh*

At least she was able to see us in our most chaotic of situations. :)

Baby D is still with us and we are still very much in love with him.

Breanna's Concert

Thankyou.Thankyou.Thankyou.

Your prayers and concern have been extremely appreciated over the last few weeks as my mom has healed and returned home from the hospital. Her surgery has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 1st...more on that later.

. . . . . . . . .

This post is a little late, but I just had to share and brag about my adorable niece, Breanna.

She is ending her year in the 2nd grade and her school put on a Spring concert.

She's the cute cabbage in the middle!

My parents came to support!!

Me too!

This is Breanna's little sister, Emma.

She did a fantastic job and we are all so proud of the little lady she is becoming.

The Vault: Emma's Open House

While in Illinois, Johnathon and I were lucky enough to get to go to Emma's 1st grade open house!! She was so excited to show us her classroom and where she went to school each day.
Bubby, Emma & Sissy
(that is what she calls us)
Then I so rudely got scooted out of the picture so she could have one with just her and Bubba...WHAT!?! haha
We also got together and surprised my grandma with a cake for her birthday!!
Isn't she awesome?!

Little Miss 1st Grader!

Friday was Emma's first day of school.

Her first year in a school WITHOUT her big sister.

And she cried. :(

By the time I picked her up...she was all smiles!

Here she is sitting on the same bench that I did when I was a little girl.

Can't believe how big she is getting.

Look at our grown girl!

Love you, Emma!!

Emma

This little beauty is my niece, Emma.

She will be six years old in a matter of days and is getting more gorgeous with every second...so jealous!

She is feisty and fun.
Most days I swear she is already a dreaded teenager.

We had so much fun taking these pictures. I literally told her to wear the tu-tu and head band and she was very active is picking out the rest. I showed her where to stand and she did the rest...
Work it, Girl!!

Are you not in love?

Emma has this hard shell of orneriness and adventure, but inside that shell you will find a very emotional and sweet hearted little girl. She is easily shaken and needs to be remind daily of your love for her. Her feelings are easily hurt and she enjoys nothing more than sitting in your lap and "loving" all day long.

She is a lover of pink, swimming and dancing.
Most of all, I think she enjoys singing!

This next picture is probably my favorite of them all! I feel as if it describes her in ways I cannot.
The pink leotard and purple {ripped} tu-tu...the painted finger nails and tube socks...the bruised knees and take charge stance...

This is EMMA!

Happy Birthday, Emma

4 years and fabulous!
My niece, Emma, is turning 4 today. I can still remember the day she was born. She was such a beautiful baby. Her uncle Johnathon was even the very first person to feed her...a first for both of them. Watching her grow these last four years has been so amazing. What a gorgeous, strong and opinionated young lady she has become. I got married and had to move just weeks before her second birthday. In many ways I feel like I have missed out on so much of her life already. I was lucky enough for her to come and visit me this summer. She was a little ray of sunshine and made the whole vacation that much more special. Emma is a little ball of life and enjoys every minute of it. She will always keep you entertained and on your feet. Here are some pictures of her this last summer...

Always posing!

Absolutely gorgeous.

 Love her.

Johnathon should arrive in port soon. He is pretty excited because he has planned to take a tour. It has now been 10 days since Johnathon left. I know it doesn't sound like its been that long, but it feels like it's been forever. We only have a little under 3 weeks left and hopefully it goes by fast.

Alyssa is doing great with her walking efforts. As long as she is holding my finger, she can walk anywhere and everywhere...and FAST. She just needs to realize that she is ready. Allison is so absolutely adorable. When I look at her I just can't help
but smile. She is so beautiful and loving. I can't wait to watch and see what kind of people my precious daughters grow into. I really get a kick out of watching them comfort each other. Allison has started giving kisses! Unfortunately they are open mouthed kisses full of slobber. I'll take what I can get. :)

Everyday the girls add something new to their 'dance routine'. It all started with the head, now it's the arms and legs too. I think dance classes are in our future. I have to much to look forward to.

God Bless
