My name is Sarah and welcome to my blog: Simply Blessed...with Chaos! It is nothing more than the story of my journey with three beautiful little girls and their wonderful father. Let me fill you all in on the basics...
Johnathon and I were married on July 22, 2006 after two years of dating. A year and a half of which, he was away in the Navy. I was a young 18 and he only 20 himself, we were ready to conquer the world. Four months into our marriage we found out the we were expecting our first child...TWINS! Alyssa & Allison were born at 30 weeks and spent 8 weeks in the NICU at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. 27 short months later, their little sister, Madelynn, was born. In January 2013, just 6 short months after Johnathon returned home from deployment, we started the process of becoming certified foster parents. By April 2013, D, a perfect little baby boy was in our home. Jackson adoption was finalized on May 6, 2015.
Together, we spent the first 5 years in San Diego, California before the girls and I packed up and moved to Illinois to be with family while Johnathon prepared for his first actual deployment. (We had dealt with many long underways, fleet weeks, a commissioning and even a sail around the tip of South America.)
In early 2012, while Johnathon was still on deployment, we learned that we would be calling San Diego our home again. We've been here ever since!
It's hard. It's lonely. It's not for everyone.
(heck, on most days I wonder if it's really for me)
But we do it. We get up every morning and remind ourselves that freedom isn't free and it's up to us to make the best out of a bad situation. Things will not change anytime soon so we may as well have a good time!
