Christmas Block Party 2012

The chocolate chip cookies are cooling on the counter and our ham is in the oven. The girls are playing quietly while Johnathon picks up the living room for the 15th time...in the last 5 minutes. :)

Our elves surprised the girls with gifts this morning. They each received a new pair of jammies to wear tonight. I'm sure it will be hard for the girls to say good-bye to them tonight, but this momma is SO happy for them to stay in the North Pole until next year. I have a few pictures of where they hid and I hope to share them soon, but for now I have the details of our block party.

Back in early December, my neighbor and I hosted a Christmas block party.

We had the cutest little 'Reindeer Food Bar' where the kids were able to make their very own custom mixture of reindeer food.

Being on talking terms with the big guy {aka: Santa} we were able to pull a few KNOWN reindeer favorites

The kids had a blast and we will surely do it again next year.

We even had a 'Kid Craft & Cookie Decorating' area.

There were sugar cookies (candy cane, Christmas trees, gingerbread men, and stockings), icing and lots of yummy toppings for the kids to be creative with.

There were even yard games.

A fun time was had by all.

Here are some of the kids making their reindeer food.

Others spend the majority of the time playing games.

We drank hot chocolate and even served hot dogs from a crock pot. I found the idea on Pinterest and was happily surprised when they turned out perfect and delicious.

A party just wouldn't be complete without our goofy little Madelynn. :)

I hope everyone is having a joyful and happy Christmas Eve with their friends and loved ones. I am sad to be so far from my family and friends, but incredibly thankful to have Johnathon home this year and to be blessed with such amazing neighbors.

Merry Christmas!

May Days

My hometown holds a carnival every year, May Days. Lucky for us, Johnathon was here to go with us and see the girls ride their first rides as big girls.

Here are my little ladies on our way to the carnival.

{Allison & Alyssa}

Madelynn was a little less than thrilled to be sitting in the stroller while her sisters got to play, but she was a trooper.

The first ride was a series of race cars that whirled around a track. They chose to sit together and looooved it!

Can you believe they will be 4 in a few weeks?

My daring little ones then decided to talk me into letting them ride the 'bus ride'...I, of course, said yes.

Imagine my shock when it started to go very high and my girls decided to look over the side.

Up and up they went.

This momma was F.R.E.A.K.I.N.G out at this point in the ride.

I kept yelling at them to sit down and hold on tight. They must have thought I was crazy.

Aren't I though? :p

We had a blast as a family and I know the girls were thrilled that their daddy was able to be there.

Just...

...an average

fun & chaotic

evening in the

Stone house.

I can never know what our day will be like from one moment to the next.

What I DO know is...

If you can't have fun and make a mess when your little,

then when can you?

S.U.M.M.E.R & Watermelon

Alyssa & Allison couldn't be happier with this weather.
They are able to enjoy all the things that they love...
Watermelon!

Lot's of watermelon!

And more watermelon!

Playing outside...in their pajamas. ;)

Swimming!

They were grabbing just about everything out of the garage to play with.
So please don't ask why there is a fork in this picture. haha

I just can't get enough of their cute little pig tails!!

How lucky am I?
{pretty lucky!}

Now what did we eat for an after nap snack later that day??
You guessed it...

More WATERMELON!

Always...

There is always something crazy going on in our house!
Yesterday it was paint. Paint, EVERYWHERE!

Now it's BALLOONS!

The girls {or their Dad} are always coming up with a new crazy idea.
Okay, okay! The paint was my idea...but you know what I mean.

Never a dull moment.

Never a quiet second.

Always cartoons, fun & laughter!

Did you notice their adorable pig tails?? They're horribly crooked, but cute nonetheless!

They even cried until I agreed to let them take their balloons to bed with them. It wasn't even 5 minutes later that we heard a "POP". :)

We've been having a really good week...er, make that a really good MONTH!
