Early Morning Thoughts...

It was a 6:40am for me today.

Madelynn woke up hungry (shocker!) and after she got what she wanted, she fell back to sleep. Figures.

Me? I have too much going on in my head to even think about going back to sleep.

We gave our 30 day notice yesterday and will have our first walk-through tomorrow. They are basically looking at toilets, bathtubs, kitchen appliances and carpet. Just seeing what needs to be replaced and cleaned up. It should be interesting.

Johnny is also (finally) selling the boat that has been hogging our garage for MONTHS. I told him that I wanted it gone by the first of the year...do you see how well he listens to me?

At the very same time that we are getting our walk through, we are also getting a new garage door. I'm not sure why. Ours is in great condition, I guess the military just likes to spend money when it's not needed. :)

Tomorrow is going to be a loooooong day!

In exciting news...my parents are now the legal guardians of two of my nieces and my nephew. Without going into details, I just wanted to share the fabulous news!! The kids are very happy where they are and will continue to see their parents.

Well, I hear Alyssa and Allison starting to talk.

"Are you awake?"
"Yeah, are you?"
"Yeah, You wanna play house?"
"Sure, I'll be the momma and you be the baby."
"Is Mommy awake yet?" :)

They seriously put the biggest smile on my face!!

I'll post pictures of my beauties later today.

Late Night Nothings

Believe it or not, I am really enjoying this whole packing process. It's a little emotional for me, but liberating and cleansing as well. It's been forcing me to filter through papers (mainly from when the twins were in the NICU), think twice about what clothes and toys we should have tossed out months ago, and just rid ourselves of useless clutter that has gathered over the last four years.

Madelynn's room was the first to be finished. All that is left is to take down her crib. That's it. It's bare white walls make me an emotional wreck every time I walk in. After all, that is the very same room that I would sit in while pregnant with the twins and wonder what motherhood would be like. It's the room where I spent most of my nights dozing off in the rocking chair...one baby in each arm and a horrible kink in my neck. That room has been with me through all three of my babies...it's hard!

We are buying some boxes this week to get a jump start on the rest of the house. I think my biggest hurdle will be the floors. As kids came and the stress level rose, my ability to keep up on every chore took a back seat...floors being almost completely ignored. The rest of the house is actually in pretty good condition, SHOCKER! haha. It's no surprise if you know me at all. I was that teenager that may have had clothes all over my bed and CDs scattered on my floor, but you better believe that my closet, dresser and under my bed were perfectly organized. Alright, so I'm weird!! :)

Johnathon got me a fabulous book the other day, Navy Spouse's Guide by Laura Hall Stavridis, and I love it! I've been a Navy wife/girlfriend for just under 6 years now and there are still little tidbits that I am learning from this book. Just after reading the first page I learned that the author's husband was assigned to a precom ship which sailed from Biloxi, Mississippi around the tip of South America to it's home port of San Diego. I, too, went through that same situation with my husband not even a year and a half ago.

I went to the dentist today. Is it strange that I enjoy going?? I mean, is there any better feeling then right after your teeth have been cleaned? Seriously...I love it!

Anywho, I'm tired and there is a handsome man in my bed waiting for me. Goodnight!

Illinois Bound

Yes, you read that correctly!

In a matter of 5 weeks I will be packing up our 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, full of junk house and placing everything we own in storage. Then I will be flying over 2000 miles alone with 3 little girls. It's sure to be a busy few weeks and to be honest, I'm a little anxious about it.

Why are making this giant leap of faith??

2011 is a big year for both of our families...

My sister-in-law is getting married and lucky for me, I am a big part of getting everything together. I have parties to plan, dresses to try on and favors to make.

My mother-in-law was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. After what we thought was a successful surgery, we recently found out that she will need to go back in for another followed by a few weeks of radiation. Thanks to everyone for their kind emails and comments. We appreciate the prayers.

My brother is going through a lot with his wife right now. They are separated at the moment and their three beautiful kids are stuck in the middle of it all.

My little sister, by a whole 7 months, is also getting married in the next year and again I will be planning parties, trying on dresses and making favors!

My baby sister is turning 18 and graduating from high school. {sigh}

My parents will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary...what an accomplishment!

On top of all of that, Johnathon will be going out to sea lot with work-ups and preparing for his upcoming deployment. He will have yet another advancement test and will be working harder than ever. We've discussed our options, thought about all of our possibilities and we understand what we are sacrificing.

It's going to be a long and hard year for us, but we genuinely feel like we are making the right choice for our family.

Johnathon will come and visit a few times throughout the year and we will keep in touch through care packages, cards and Skype. With any luck, he should be able to attend ALL birthday parties and be with us during our special moments.

Zzzzz...have I bored you enough yet?

I'll be nice and leave you with a picture of my big girls. They are growing up so fast.

FYI: I have very few pictures lately because my daughters enjoy running around naked. What is a mother to do? :)
