A few weeks ago Naval Medical Center San Diego hosted their annual NICU Reunion.
For us, this was our 6 year anniversary as the twins will be turning 6 years old next week.
We had such a good time and it was a great experience for everyone.
Here are the girls planting a bamboo plant.
Then they stopped to play with stickers and make their own fake passports.
I loved that everyone got a name tag, but only NICU graduates got a sticker on theirs and they also added what year they graduated. It was nice to look around and see/compare other children who are around their age.
Of course we got a picture with Thing 1 and Thing 2.
Face paintings!
Upon entering the reunion, they handed every family one red ticket for the raffle. Wouldn't you know it, we won!!
As we were in line to get our lunch, they called our number. We won two tickets to a Hornblower Cruise here in San Diego...DATE NIGHT! :)
There was lunch, music and even live dancing.
So. Much. Fun.
Due to the doctors being in the Navy, ours are no longer attached to this command and were unable to attend. We did however head up the NICU to ask about our favorite nurse, Ms. Kathy.
She wasn't there that day, but we made our way back later that weekend to thank her for everything that she did for us. I was shocked with she remembered us as the 'A' twins of 2007.
Overall, it was a great experience and we will be going back next year for sure.
Thank you, NMCSD NICU, for everything that you have done and continue to do for our family!
