getting too big, too fast

My babies are getting way too big, way too fast.

It's been really hard for me to acknowledge that they will be 3 years old soon. I just want to close my eyes and shake my head.

No. No. No.

It was really bothering me the other night when we went to Chuck E. Cheese and the girls could actually walk around and play. Of course they stayed within eye sight (most of the time!), but just letting them venture out on their own about killed me. They could not only play the games, but voice their opinions on what game they wanted to play.

This seemed to be a favorite!

They loved watching the characters sing and dance.
That's why when Alyssa ran off and couldn't be found, I knew I could find her here. And there she was!

Madelynn was so calm and quiet the entire time.
The twins loooved the tunnels, but were a little too short to make it up the first part. Soooo, I had to help them! haha.
Guess who went the ENTIRE night with no diaper?
Who told us EVERY time she had to go potty?

ALYSSA!!
They stayed together and really looked after one another.
But nonetheless, Alyssa always took charge and left Allison in a little bit of her dust!! haha.

. . .

I'm not sure whether I should feel proud or insulted...you be the judge.

It's no surprise that my house is never clean. In fact, it's usually quite the opposite. With three little kids 2 and under, it's hard to keep up with them and certain things are left untouched for days. :)

I had a little bit of energy the other day and decided I would take full advantage of the girls' nap time and organize all the chaotic toys. I moved the living room around AGAIN and sorted through the piles of CRAP that fills the room. I threw a lot of things away, put other stuff up to be brought out later and hid the annoying toys wayyyyy in the back!!

I even got out the vacuum!

When it was time to get Alyssa & Allison up for the night I found myself excited to see what they would think. How would they react. Would they even notice?

Oh, they noticed alright.

Allison: (looking up at me with amazement in her eyes)
"Wow! Mommy, you cleaned it."

She then goes over, bends over, tilts her head and examines the toy shelf.
"Very good, Mommy. You picked up my toys. My is proud of you."

WHAT?!

Well, if you know what is supposed to be done with them, maybe she should START DOING IT HERSELF! haha.
