Thanking Daddy!

i hope everyone had a fabulous Veteran's Day with their friends and family. the kids and i spent the whole day with our very own military man...

their Daddy!

i was sitting on the couch last night watching Johnny hold our crying infant, when i realized that i have so much more to be thankful for other than his occupation. he is a wonderful patient father and a loyal and forgiving husband. i have noticed him holding Madelynn every chance he gets. if she even makes a tiny peep in her sleep...he holds her in his arms. if its time for her to eat, he has already changed her and insists that i do enough and it's his turn. i even tried to put the twins to bed last night and was stopped before i could even get to the stairs...he couldn't stand not tucking them in at night.
updates on Madelynn:
she is doing great and still getting bigger. she has rolled over a total of 4 times...though i don't think she even knows how she did it. her hair is still thick and beautiful in the back, but lacking in the front!! her completion is getting lighter and lighter and she FINALLY looks like my child! haha. she is sleeping a 6 hour stretch at night, making my life SO much easier. other than that, she is eating every 4 hours and eating like a champ nonetheless! her check-up is on Monday and i am very excited to see how much she weighs. my guess is that she is already half the weight of her big sister. that shouldn't be hard considering that they are almost 2 1/2 and still weigh 20lbs.
. . .
Allison fell off the couch head first today while playing with her sister and hit her back on the coffee table as she did so. needless to say, she has three large bruises on her back. i feel horrible because i just so happened to be three inches from her as it all went down. she was up and playing again 5 minutes later, but the guilt is still there. how could i let this happen? the girls each climb up and down the couch all day long...i never saw this coming.
. . .
it's been just over 5 weeks since Madelynn was born and i am feeling great. i am in no pain whatsoever from the c-section and can move around normally. i think i may even be feeling up to a trip to IKEA this weekend! :)
xoxo
