The Stone Family Christmas Letter...

Dear Family & Friends,
2009 has been an exciting year in our home. Johnathon and I rang in the new year knowing that we wanted to add to our growing family. Before we knew it, by February 4th, I WAS PREGNANT! The twins were just over 19 months old and we were exploding with happiness. On February 21st the girls and I said our good-byes to Johnathon and flew what was supposed to be a 4 hour flight to Illinois where we would be staying until the baby was born while Johnathon was away in the Navy. Little did we know that the 4 hour flight would actually end up being over 12 hours long due to delays and cancellations!! Johnathon then drove from California to Illinois for Easter and then he was off to Mississippi. We didn't see him again until the end of June for the twins' 2nd birthday. My babies were growing up. By this point, they were talking on a regular basis and doing so many more things that Johnathon had missed out on. He was able to stay with us until the 4th of July and then we have off again, this time out to sea. It was around the tip of South America for him. I continued to get larger as Madelynn (our 3rd beautiful little girl) was growing like a weed inside of my belly. Johnathon made it home just in time for my mom to go into the hospital. We spent over a week with her in the hospital and the day she was releases was actually the day of my planned repeat c-section. Madelynn came into this world on October 7th, 2009 @ 12:20pm weighing 6lbs even and measuring in at 17 1/2 in. She was beautiful! Not more than 2 weeks later we said good-bye to our friends and family and left the place that I had called home for the last 10 months and braved the 30 hour road trip home to San Diego with 2 year old twins and a 2 week old infant! Luckily Johnathon's parents were following us and were able to help not only the whole way, but a week after we got home. Johnathon's ship was commissioned on October 24th, 2009 and it was quite the event. He is officially a plank owner of the USS Makin Island (LHD 8). For Halloween we had a little bumble bee, lady bug and pumpkin...they were adorable! We spent Thanksgiving alone as a family and now we find ourselves ready for Christmas. Our shopping is done and the house is decorated...
Madelynn: is "goo-ing" and sleeping through the night.
Alyssa & Allison: enjoy playing with play-doh, their kitchen and singing. (twinkle, twinkle little star is a FAVORITE) they are also sleeping in toddler beds now and Alyssa is potty trained.
Johnathon: working hard as always and starting to study for his E-6 test that will be taking place in early 2010.
Sarah (lovely me): some days are great, others have me pulling my hair out, but all are memorable for sure! I'm just trying to enjoy my time with the girls while they are little and soaking up EVERYTHING!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
2009
